  20. As with any image, your possession of a physical copy of these
  21. digitized images does not in itself mean you have unlimited rights to
  22. use the images. Most images, including those on this disc, are
  23. protected by copyright, and use requires the permission
  24. of the copyright owner. For the images on this Photo CD disc,
  25. Quantum Leap Technologies and Graeme Teague grant the 
  26. following rights:

  28.   Authorized holders of the Photo CD sampler disc may view, 
  29.   manipulate, store, transmit, and display the recorded images 
  30.   for any purpose associated with electronic imaging. Written
  31.   permission of the publisher (Quantum Leap) must be obtained

  45. THE FORMAT
  46.  
  47. Images on the Photo CD are encoded in three uniquely formatted 
  48. resolutions. Users can select the resolution on the basis of intended 
  49. use:
  50.  
  51. 1. Thumbnail, for selecting and previewing (128x192 pixels)
  52. 2. Snapshot, for low-resolution image manipulation (256x384 pixels)
  53. 3. TV-comparable, for moderate resolution (512x768 pixels)

  56. THE ACCESS
  57.  
  58. You can view these images on a KODAK Photo CD Player, a 3DO 
  59. player, a Philips CD-I player, or any other of a myriad of new 
  60. CD-based players connected to any standard home television set.

  62. Alternatively, if you have a computer with a Photo CD compatible CD
  63. ROM drive (Mode 2 and Form 1), you can also display these images
  64. using KODAK Photo CD Access software.  This software converts the
  65. images to popular file formats and exports to most image enabled
  66. software products.

  68. Application software that has been developed using the Kodak Photo
  69. CD Access software is capable of accessing the Photo CD images from
  70. within their menus for more convenient use of the images. Look for
  71. the Photo CD logo on packaging to indicate this capability.

  73. To achieve the full impact and quality of these images you should
  74. use a full color 24-bit display system on your computer.
